Closed Expansion Tank

Closed expansion tanks with replaceable membranes are used to meet the fluid volume that increases with the temperature increase in heating systems.
The fluid circulating in the system begins to expand with the effect of heat. The expanded amount is filled into the expansion tank and is cushioned around the membrane in the
tank with pre-filled gas. Thus, the expanding fluid is prevented from damaging the system. With the cooling of the fluid circulating in the system, the expanded amount is directed back to the system from the tank by the pressure of the gas around the membrane.

Advantages of using closed expansion tank;
• Since the necessity of heating the water idle in the open expansion tank is eliminated, fuel saving is achieved.
• Since the closed expansion tank will be installed in a sheltered area such as a boiler room, the heat loss is reduced and fuel savings are achieved.
• Since the system is closed to the atmosphere, oxygen does not enter from outside and equipment, radiators, pumps, boilers, etc. are less affected by corrosion.
• It saves space as it takes up less space than an open expansion tank.

WARNING!
• In heating systems, the expansion tank is not a safety product that provides complete safety assurance for the system, and therefore, system safety must be ensured with safety valve, automatic evacuation, etc. equipment.
• Closed expansion tanks can be used in heating systems using only gas or liquid fuels. It is absolutely not suitable to use a closed expansion tank in solid fuel systems.
